Dental Pop quiz:

  1. What are the ideal dimensions for a dental surgery?
  2. Does a cart or wall mount unit (side delivery), need more or less space than a tradtional delivery?
  3. Which is the best equipment delivery system, size delivery, rear delivery or over-the patient (trans-thorax)?
  4. Where/how would you like to reach for your dynamic instruments (handpieces)?

A new car or a new dental chair

The motor vehicle analogy with dental equipment has always seemed appropriate.  The range of prices is similar.  You can buy it fully optioned with all the "bells & whistles" or just the basic model.  There are plenty of different brands, colours, styles engine sizes etc.

We live in a world with a phenomenal number of choices, to accomodate every individual's physical and emotional requirements.  Dental equipment is no exception.  You can have your handpieces delivered from the side, the rear of the surgery or trans-thorax.  You can choose your dental chair with suction attached or have your suction items atted to cabinetry behind the patient.  You can have a spittoon or not.  You can have scalers, electric motors and cameras built in, curing lights on the assistant's side or on the the operator's side.  Your operating lights can be chair mounted.  Your computer monitor can be chair mounted, wall mounted or celing mounted.  The choices are yours.
